Ultra luxurious 4-day destination wedding in Franschhoek

Ursula Forrest - Friday, January 15, 2021

When this gorgeous, fun-loving, globe-trotting, sophisticated bride-to-be, asked me to plan her highly personalised, bespoke and intimate wedding, I knew that this destination wedding was written in the stars!

From the moment I met Bonny via Zoom, I adored her! Her passion, her vision, her enthusiasm and her unparalleled knowledge of food and wine, combined with her direct approach and quick decision-making skillset enabled us to plan her very detailed and incredibly bespoke 4-day wedding in just under two months!

Bonny's wedding vision was clear ~ she wanted to design her intimate 4-day wedding celebration around food by bringing their two families together around the table.

As an avid food and wine connoisseur, and intricately involved in all the wedding planning stages, I introduced Bonny to the maestro's, Luke & Katie Wonnacot from Table Seven! The concept of an Italian-themed pre-wedding dinner, Mediterranean brunch, an Asian-Fusion Japanese inspired wedding reception dinner, and an East African/Moroccan inspired feast was born!

When it comes to styling, the visionary Johan Taute from Scape Events conceptualised, designed and styled each facet of this ultra-luxurious and bespoke wedding celebration. From hand-stitched French linen napkins to the custom-made padded bars for the wedding reception and the Jungle-themed wedding afterparty bar covered in tropical Ardmore fabric, Johan's hands-on approach and intricate attention to detail, made Bonny's vision come to life!

Coral Shortt from Epanouir Flower Studio, appointed as the lead florist created the magnificent florals that adorned each of these celebrations.

Shaun West, the super cool and incredibly talented owner of The Wedding DJ's, curated the various live musicians and DJs.

One of South Africa's top bands, Acoustic Element comprised of the dynamic duo, cousins Callen Petersen and Jody Abel, entertained the intimate group with their beat-boxing, electric violin performance at the outdoor pre-reception held at the upper pool adjacent to the estates beautiful rose garden.

The privately owned and majestic Sandstone House located in an exclusive expanse of Franschhoek with breath-taking mountain views and exquisitely landscaped gardens, adorned with Dylan Lewis sculptures was the setting for the pre-wedding and wedding reception.

Hewitt Wright Photography beautifully captured this intimate and bespoke wedding.

Angelique Smith expertly captured the pre-wedding dinner, Mediterranean brunch and post-wedding Moroccan themed dinner.

We will be sharing more of this beautiful destination wedding celebration during the upcoming weeks. Please come back and visit our blog for more luxury wedding inspiration.
